Coventry Airport was informed on Febuary 7th that a substantive hearing into the Airport’s legal challenge is to be brought forward. The Airport’s has secured the new date with the Administrative Court and the hearing will now take place the week commencing 21st July, some 3 months earlier than previously expected. The hearing is scheduled to take five days and will be heard in the High Court. Chris Ophanou, the Airport’s CEO said “ We want to put our argument forward as to why the decision of the Secretaries of State was flawed and get on with building our business for the good of Coventry, Warwickshire and the region as a whole”.

Flyglobespan Sales Soar

Flyglobespan, who serve more destinations than any other airline from Durham Tees Valley Airport, has today announced a rise in sales for January 08.


Destinations that have proved to be particular hotspots include The Algarve and Alicante, while Malaga tops the popularity leader board. Jersey, which flyglobespan offers exclusively from Durham Tees Valley airport only has also proved to a be a real hit with the local market. A new destination Tenerife, may become the top selling destination.

Noisy Aircraft Charitable Fines

This airport has freephone 24 hour telephone line for residents to raise concerns about noise.  Aircraft breaking stated noise thresholds are fined according to the level of infringement.

Money raised from fining is place into the Edinburgh Airport Community Fund, which was established in 2006.  This fund supports projects and good causes local to the airport covering education, the environment and sport.  It is administered by the Community Forum, a group made up of airport staff.
