Airport experienced continued growth in passenger traffic in 2007. The airport welcomed over 1.96 million passengers, an increase of 2.8% on 2006, making it the busiest year ever in its 98 year history.
During December alone, over 133,300 passengers. The airport currently serves 46 destinations with 14 airline and tour operator partners. The most popular are Edinburgh, Manchester, Glasgow, Jersey, Guernsey, Paris, Dublin, Newcastle, Belfast and Amsterdam.
Passengers should not experience any delays to their check-in procedure associated with these measures.
Christmas Holday Traffic Soars
It is estimated that 170,000 people flew from the airport over the Christmas and New Year Holiday. This was a rise of 13% during the same period in 2006.
The ever popular city break destination was Dublin and the winter sunshine favourite destination Alicante with Malaga and Tenerife in close attendance.

Virgin Flying Without Fear Location
First TransPennine Express have started running services direct from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Carlisle to Manchester Airport. First TransPennine Express is expanding its network to provide 14 daily services each day between Scotland and Manchester.
Four trains a day will run from Edinburgh to Manchester and three each day from Glasgow Central.
