Vienna has an excellent public transport system consisting of trains, trams, buses and an S-Bahn and U-Bahn network .Vienna Schnellbahn The S-Bahn is a railway system connecting central Vienna with the rural areas Burgenland and Lower Austria U-Bahn Vienna's five U-Bahn lines operate from around 5am till midnight. Service every 5 minutes during peak peak times 8-9..

Trams Approximately 30 routes. with each route operating every 5-10 minutes .Buses Services are not universal as they seem to operate in areas where there are no trams or U-Bahn services. . Wiener Lokalbahnen AG small rail network serving the city centre & suburbs.

Fares & Tickets: All of Vienna's transport services operate the VOR ticket system Any ticket bearing the VOR symbol can be used on every means of public transport. You can change routes without buying a new ticket. All of Vienna is zone 100.

If you are going outside Vienna you should see the network map as you may have to pay for an extra zone. Travelling to or from from the airport on the S-Bahn is two zones (see Airport Connections). If you have a valid ticket for zone 100 be it a daily or weekly pass you will have to puchase a single ticket for the extra zone.
