Gdansk is a very small city and it is easy to travel around the city centre on foot.
The trams in Gdansk are local services which do do not travel far from the central area. The buses in Gdansk serve the city and the suburbs. The cost of a ticket for either is 2.45PL. Tickets should be bought in advance from one of the kiosks.
The majority of national and international coach services to Gdansk (including Eurolines services) finish at the Gdańsk bus station Dworzec PKS. This is immediately behind railway station Dworzec PKP)
If you are travelling to areas outside Gdansk The Kolejka, commuter train, runs about 10 - 12b minutes between 06.00am and 19.0O. After 19.00 the service is much less frequent. Tickets are available from ticket machines at the station entrance. Some kiosks also sell rail tickets.
Each ticket must be stamped in the yellow boxes on the platform before you board the train. If you are outside Gdansk and unable to buy a ticket before boarding the train you must purchase a ticket from the guard at the front of the train.
Taxis prices in Gdansk are very fair and if you order one by telephone is cheaper than waving one down in the street.
