European Coach Networks National Lines & International Services - The Baltic States Central Europe Eastern Europe Northern Europe Southern Europe Western Europe Scandinavia & Russia Most countries have several or many differet companies offering coach services nationally and internationally. Some of these services only serve a limited number of destinations (ie are intercity) whilst others are fairly extensive as is the case in Belarus and Britain. The maintenance of vehicles and the comfort offered on some services varies particularly in poorer countries where the coaches may be old or the regulations are not as rigid as in they are in the UK. It is therefore very difficult to single out individual companies in anyone country that are dependable and who offer a comprehensive service in that country. However the better companies in any one country are generally intergrated into the international services provided by Eurolines. This means that they may operate international services across europe or connect with other Eurolines that operate into their coumtry. In central and western Europe it is possible to board a eurolines coach in most capital cities and travel on that coach to another capital ie London - Prague or Paris - Berlin - though you may need to change services if you are going to Scandinavia. Where these services cross a sea - (ie the English Channel or the Baltic) the cost of the sea trip is included in the price. There is also the attraction of not having to pay for your luggage as is increasingly the case with airlines particularly the low cost carriers. Travelwise: Obviously if you are planning a long journey the prospect of a scenic 24 - 48 hour coach journey particularly to Eastern and southern europe.may not be your cup of tea, even if you the time and whatever the price. However some of these countries are not prime haunts of low cost airlines and the cost of flights with national carriers, depending on your point of view can be either ridiculous or daylight robbery. A compromise that might be worth considering if your going say east of say Prague or Tallinn and south of Budapest or Sofia is to fly with a low cost carrier to one of these destinations and then use a eurolines service for the remainder of the journey. This may literally save you hundreds of euros or pounds. Index Of National Coach Service Across Europe

How Safe At Night Is The City I Am Going To Stay In
Are there still landmines in Serbia - When is a lady of the night in Prague not a lady - and is St Petersburg safe for a black person to visit?
Every city guide has a 'crime and personal safety and security guide' which outines essential information a visitor should know. This information is rarely found on a tourist board site and unlikely to be detailed in a holiday brochure. Yes there are still landlines in parts of Serbia, but not in the capital. Ladies of the night in Prague may actually be robbers and skinheads do attack Asians and Afro Carribeans in St Petersburg.
Few cities anywhere in the world are without their own problems but it does help if one has some idea of what they are: city guide index
