Previews From Euromosts European Clubs & Clubbing Nightlife Guides For Southern Central Eastern Western Europe The Baltic Scandinavia:

Paris Clubbing: The most striking thing about clubbing in Paris is that serious clubbers in this city tend to patronise venues that offer live bands and as a result many venues seem to have moved away from routine club mights where the programme is the same each week. The upside of this is that Paris, which has a smaller clubbing scene than some other european capitals but if s often attracts more big name artists more than its rivals...... Batofar near the quay François-Mauriac Paris 13 Telephone 01 536 01730 (nearest metro Quai de la Gare) is a sound bet if you are into dance dub electro dub step or techno. Occasionally has some world class acts. see website. Admission and drink charges are amongst the best in Paris. Club Opens 11pm-6am Monday - Saturday it also has a Sunday morning session on the first Sunday in every month from 6am til midday for those who can't sleep. Ed Comment Deserves respect - Its practically an institution. more Paris reviews.

Amsterdam Night Clubs: Amsterdam has always had a vibrant nightlife catering for people with broad tastes in music and other night time activities. In the eighties and nineties it's 'anything goes' reputation undoubtedly made it the clubbing centre of mainland Europe but that status is at best shared with Prague and Belgrade. Nowdays it has become a little too commercial- less diverse musically and far more formal than in the past. Dress codes are generally strict erring on the designer/ fashionable classy side and the doorman / security personnel are less tolerant of excitable behaviour Most of the hardcore clubs can found ..... Open nightly TWSTD at Weteringschans 157 Telephone 320 7030 is a club which plays hip hop, house and techno has a reputation for inviting establshed DJ's from all over Europe to host proceedings. Club Opens from 6pm-1am Sunday through to Thursday & from ; 6pm-3am Friday and Saturday. Admission Free. website for detailed programme. Editorial Comment Some people and not just locals say this is the club! Melkweg at Lijnbaansgracht 234A Telephone 531 8181 has earned itself a reputation across Holland for playing a range of good music including dance hip hop jazz rock and r&b and soul. It's Techno parties are becoming legendary. Membership is a condition of admission though this only €3 for one month. Entry charges depend on type of night but generally are between €10 and €30. Check website for details and opening times. Editorial Comment. Serious club with very knowledgable DJ's. more Amsterdam reviews

Prague Night Clubs Clubbers in Prague are spoilt for choice and practically all venues are cheap when compared with leading cities in Western Europe. Many people reckon that the other thing the city has going for is the range of music that these clubs play - but not all ...... Cloud 9 Club Prague: Well promoted but aptly named club on the 9th floor of Prague's Hilton Hotel - designed to appeal to those 'jolly' types' who like to look down on others and pay dearly for the experience. Decor is impressive and the prescence of professional ladies obvious. The music which finishes at around 2am is loosely Breakbeat Chill-Out Disco House Latino and Jazz. Editorial Comment: Dress code says it all smart and glamorous Cross Club Prague: Free thinking underground music club on the ground floor and basement cellar of a house in Prague's old industrial area. The light show here is second to one - it probaly has at least one of every club lighting accessory ever made a 'back to the future ' experience. The music is equally broad with Acid, Beat-Box BreakBeat Dance-Hall Drum'n'Bass Dub Electro FreeTekno Gabba HardCore Hip-Hop Jungle Psychedelic Trance Reggae Ska Techno Tech-Trance Tech-House & Noise-Core. The DJs / MC's frequently hold dance parties supported by a range of live acts more Prague reviews

Berlin Night Life Berlin was once dominated by Techno Clubs led by the Tresor Club which like most of its counterparts are no more though there reports it may return in the summer. Now the techno scene is represented by Polar.tv at Heidestr. 73 by Invalidenstr Berlin Telephone 030 246 25 93 30 - but even here the genre is shared with house. The club is a serious place for those want to dance in a place which is modern with style. Its easy to party here as the drink prices are decent which probably accounts for its late teenage crowd. The club is open Friday and Saturday from about 11pm and goes through the night and often puts on special promos. see website for details and prices. Dress code clubwear. Editorial Comment - Can be a little wild but there always the clubs park area outside to chill in.The KingKongKlub at Brunnenstrasse 173 10110 Berlin Telephone 30 9120 6860 has established itself as an eclectic but fashionable club which offers everything from punk to house. It also puts on Caberet and anything else that it's patrons ask for! see website. The decor is equally cosmopolitian the beers are very reasonably priced and its really comfortable chairs and settee add to the very relaxed ambience. Editorial Comment check out whats on as it is well regarded in many quarters. more Berlin reviews

Budapest NightClubs Clubbers visiting Budapest face a challenge when it comes to distinguishing 'music and dance clubs' from sex shows and brothels. The task is not made any easier by resorting to the usually informative cab or taxi driver for help as many of these are on commission for every foreign tourist they deliver to a sex joint. So if you ask the driver to take you to a particular club they may tell you it is closed, moved to a new address, or not very good and offer to take you somewhere else. There are three ways you can overcome this .... The Bahnhof Music Club at VI. Váci u. 1, Budapest Telephone 36 1 302-4751 is a fairly safe bet for a night out especially as it is popular with locals. The club has a cover charge - nearly always below 1,000 ft. It has two dance areas one that plays contemporary music and classic dance hits. The other tends to specialise in a specific genre on individual nights - with reggare and soul nights not uncommon. Usually closes around 4am No Website - details email Editorial Comment Follow the locals who say the drinks prices are ok! The A38 Boat Club at XI. Pázmány Péter sétány, Budapest Telephone 36 1 464-3940. This club is on board a ship moored in the Danube and was probably Budapests no.1 club extremly popular locals when it first docked there six or seven years ago. The novelty of clubbing on board a ship has warn off a little with the locals but it remains one of the best clubs in Budapest and on its club nights has guest DJS from all over Europe. Music can be varied but tends to be mainstream No cover charge or only a very small one is a frequent feature of Club nights. It also put on some pretty decent live underdgound and punk bands when a cover charge, depending on the band, between 1500 and 7,000 ft is made. See website for programmes. Other features are a fairly good restaurant and a outdoor terrace though the latter is not open in the winter. The club can be found on the Buda Bank by the Petőfi Bridge. Editorial Comment Well decked out venue - thought to be a little expensive drinkwise by some but the lack of cover charges on club nights mean that locals consider it a decent night out. more Budapest reviews

Belgrade Nightclubs

Though Belgrade offers a fair range of ways of passing the night away - 90% of these establishments are off online. Techno music has, in the last decade, established itself 'bigtime' in Belgrade. The area around the Kalemegdan Citadel, is where the best clubs are found including Underground Pariska 1A, Telephone: 328 2526. and the smaller Libido Skardarska 40C, Telephone334 1600. A good rule in Belgrade is to follow the crowds who are always happy to point you in the right direction. Alternatively you could register on a specialist nightclub website clubcoyu. Copenhagen Night Cubs

Charlies Bar at Pilestraede 33. stands out not because of its prices but for its ambience. Open nightly to 2am (11pm on Sundays) it is a freehouse - offering real beers and real from Scandinavia, Europe and the United Kingdom including Czech Pilsner which is not always readily available in Northern Europe. The music free bar has a certain intimacy about it and is a good place for lovers and friends who want a evening out together. Locals often spend the evening here before setting out for a club. The most striking thing about clubs in Copenhagen is the hours they open. Few start to move before midnight with one ClubBlueNote, Studiestraede 31,open doors at 5am for those who appreciate techno and house at dawn.More club info Copenhagen

Stockholm Night Cubs

Stockholm has its fair quota of night clubs with the ones on the south side of the city in the Södermalm area generally less informal. Dress codes are relaxed though clubs on the east side - Östermalm have a reputation for refusing people who are not wearing designer clothes. These clubs can also be a very expensive night out. The formality aspect of Stockholm clubs is at first little bewildering - for example a group of revellers arriving in a taxis tends to be frowned upon by doorman who are notoriously unfriendly and certainly do not suffer fools or drunks. Stampen, Stora Nygatan 5, is one of the cities leading clubs and heavily into jazz. Mainstream jazz and sounds from New Orleans and Dixieland by live sessionists can be heard heard here most night except Tuesdays which is Rock n Roll night. Closes 1 am weekdays - a little later at weekends. Cafe Opera Operahuset serves as a bistro / teahouse during the day but at night it is transformed into a disco restaurant which you can queue for hours to get into. Very trendy, expensive and overated.More Club info from Stockhlom

Sofia Nightlife & Clubs

Sofia has a rapidly developing nightlife with many bars and clubs open to the early hours. Two that are worth noting are firstly the Beer Hall Schweik at 6 Karnigradska Ulica. This venue has a wide selection of imported beers and definitely a 'Czech' ambience about it. The other which is possibly the best bar in town is The Military Club at 8 Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard which is generally open until 5am. Apart from a large choice of Whisky and Bourbon it also sells f local wines.More Club info from Sofia
