In recent years hen and stag nights have tended to become weekend breaks and now there is a trend for them to be mini holidays especially as some of the market leaders in this industry combine the hen or stag night with other activities such as health spas anda range of sport activities.
Eastern European hen and in particular stag weekends have for many years been asscociated with Prague which has stolen the crown from Amsterdam. Personal Safety - How Safe Is The City I Am Going To Stay In - European Tourist Traps
Some official and commercial city guides may not tell you about the darker side of the city the dangers that tourists can face. Every euromost city guide features this information where we are aware of it. Are there landmines in Serbia - When is a lady of the night in Prague not a lady - and is St Petersburg safe for a black person to visit?
Every city guide has a 'crime and personal safety and security guide' which outines essential information a visitor should know. This information is rarely found on a tourist board site and unlikely to be detailed in a holiday brochure. Yes there are still landlines in parts of Serbia, but not in the capital. Ladies of the night in Prague may actually be robbers and skinheads do attack Asians and Afro Carribeans in St Petersburg.

Visiting The Death Camps At Auschwitz & Birkenau
This page is dedicated to those who died during the Holocaust whether at Auschwitz, Birkenau or any other Nazis Death Camp. It links to the official Auschwitz website. It provides travel information and advice for visitors planning to visit the Auschwitz Museum - the first camp and the purpose-built 'factory of death' Birkenau Concentration Camp which was later built close by.
Visiting both camps is a day trip, which for some can be disturbing as, the genocide of the 'final solution' mass slaughter in gas ovens and chambers was preceeded with several months of horror that involved medical experiments, hard labour, starvation and torture. >>>

An increasing number offer tourist city travel cards or period cards many of which also offer discounts to sighteeing attractions exhibhitions and restaurants etc.
Some cities may be listed on a national tourist board website and also have their own local tourist office and tourist board website. Where ever possible we have linked to these tourist boards.
Other tourist boards in Eastern Europe offer only basic information and advice - with a few places not having a tourist office. Where this happens we have endeavoured to include other well informed sources of useful independent information.
What The Tourist Boards Don't Tell You!
Some East European tourist boards offer very limited information so euromost has provided alternative sources of information from other informative independent sites.
Crime Bombs & Racism
Tourist board sites and independent travel sites in East Europe, as in the rest of the world, are not renowned for hanging out their dirty washing public consumption. Euromost has and will continue to publish such information in local city guides. More

Every euromost city guide has a restaurant guide. Some like Belgrade in Serbia and Vienna Austria mention cafes worth visiting whilst others like Sofia Bulgaria note bars including Irish bars that offer a warm welcome. The restaurant guides concentrate on restaurants offer local or national ' dishes or fare' unless the like Sarajevo Bosnia the city restaurants are cosmopolitian. Restaurants described as expensive or aimed at tourists are not ones for the shortlist.
Ski Resorts In The Alps Slovakia Russia & East European Countries
The euroski guide list ski and snowboarding resorts in the Austrian Alps, French Alps, German Alps and the Swiss Alps. In addition to these traditional Alpine Skiing resorts it also lists ski centres in thirteen countries in Eastern Europe plus the three major with ski resorts in Finland.
Many of these countries have recently joined the European Union and have since become popular destinations for low cost airlines. Though skiing and snow boarding in some parts of East Europe is a way of life the low cost airlines have enabled skiers from Western Europe to travel to these inexpensive resorts at very competitive prices. Many of the Eastern Europe ski resorts listed have a policy of positively welcoming families and are very accessible from capital or major cities.
The list of Central and Eastern European Skiing & Snow Boarding Ski resorts is not definitive as especially in Eastern Europe the ski industry is in international tourist terms in its infancy. Consequently prices are significantly cheaper. The downside is that these lower yields mean that investment in some facilities, especially chairs and lifts, are not as sophiscated as the better known Alpine ski resorts. This can mean queues for the same in some resorts. Another fairly common problem is that lift passes in some places are not intergrated to neighbouring slopes.
The Eastern European countries with Skiing and Snow boarding Ski resorts are Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia & The Ukraine. For Full article, listings and details of the Alpine Snow Train can be acessed on the euroski page.

The Many Myths Of East Europe
The political and military division of Central & Eastern Europe in 1945 resulted in a number of myths being imparted to and assumed by the next two generations of people living in western Europe. As a result a negative culture of prejudice portrayed the Soviet occupied states as hostile and intent on invading western countries.
This was often underlined by the theory that Soviet objectives were to spread communism by gradually taking over the world using the 'the domino theory'. As a result many people in Nato member countries perceived that the 'Russian Bear' was a an imiment threat. Whether this view was realistic is debatable.
What sadly is often forgotten is that over 24 million Russians died in WW2, (18m of them civilians) and from an egocentric perspective the Soviet Government felt the occupation of neighbouring states was justified. It was not an not and the oppression that the peoples of these occupied countries suffered under Stalinist rule in an attempt to maintain the 'status quo' was at least as bad as that of the Nazis occupation.
Making The Move
Making the move for some can in dating terms be pretty stressful but in relative it can be a mere drop in the ocean when it comes to moving your home or office. In fact some psychlogists believe that say it is second only to bereavement confining even divorce into the bronze position for anxiety.
Any move whether it is commercial domestic or industrial is made again in an atmosphere of change hope and uncertainity. Though these volatile emmotions common to all of us - they are not always an asset when you want to overcome the logistical problems of moving your prized possessions from one European country to another. Equally however competent you are you may not have the local or national knowledge that you might need to make the move, without having your wordly goods impounded by customs controls and alike.
Even getting quotes for a move can be a nightmare, especially if you do not speak the national language of the country you are in or going to. Arranging a move or just phoning Eastern Europe if you don't speak an Eastern European language language.
Most countries in Europe (Eastern and Western) have companies that specialise in international removals but who do you ring if you are the UK but want to organise a move from the Czech Republic to Albania.? If you find a removal company who says they can move you - how can be sure that they are bonafide competent, or competively priced?
Well euromost has discovered that whether you are organising a move to or from Bulgaria France Latvia or Spain there is one company that can find you several companies in any given european country who each provide proffessional international removal services and will provide you with a free quote. These companies all offer a personal step by step guide to your move to any european city or country. They are familiar with these issues and have bi-lingual staff,
So if you moving abroad, emigrating, setting up a holiday home or a european office and you want the angst taking out of the planning help is at hand. On each euromost country page shortly you will find links to local removal companies.
Weather And Climate Information For Eastern Europe The Baltic States and Russia and China.
For many people the words weather and Eastern Europe conjur up thoughts of extreme cold, heavy snow and communist military parades passing a windswept Kremlin ordained by old men clad in thick winter coats. We have it on good authority that the the severity of the Russian and Siberian winter which can dominate eastern europe weather goes back long before the cold war as Hitler and Napoelon discovered.
Cities like Moscow and St Petersburg in midwinter have an average daily temperature of -13c and at night the temperatures can fall to -33c. The other side of the coin is that both cities have an average day temperature in the summer of around 21c with highs occasionally of around 32c.
Weather conditions in many Eastern European cities can in winter be nearly as severe ( beware of a still cold harbouring a severe frost on a wind free day ) especially in late December, January and Febuary. However many Eastern Europe cities have summers that people in Western Europe can only envy.
Cities like Krakow and Prague have average summer temperatures to those in Russia but cities in Croatia Hungary, Moldova, Macedonia and Romania have average daily temperatures around 26c which can easily reach over 30c. Bucharest and Skopje have both had temperatures as high as 41c.
To simply this very diverse maze each euromost city in addition to a current weather forecast has a table of average daily maximum and minium temperatures. It also details the record high and low temperatures.
Each table is colour coded ( Please see below ) with back ground colours. Temperaratures of -5c and below are shown in deep blue. Temperatures between -4c and 5c are shown in light blue. Temperatures between 6c and 24c are shown in white. Temperatures between 25c and 29c in yellow with temperatures above 30c shown in red. See local city guides. More
