Barcelona El Prat Becomes Ryanair’s 42nd Base

Ryanair,has announced it would open its 42nd base at Barcelona El Prat in September 2010 with 5 based aircraft and 20 low fare routes. Ryanair’s El Prat routes will sustain over 2,000 local jobs as well as 250 direct Ryanair jobs among pilots, cabin crew and engineers

Wizz Air launches three new routes from London Luton
Wizz Air, has added Split, Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Venice/Treviso (Italy) to its choice of destinations from London Luton, bringing the total number of routes to 20. Currently Wizz Air offers flights to Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine.

Wizz Air Expands Budapest Services
Wizz Air, has announced it will  launch new routes and increase frequencies of a number of existing services by adding a fourth Airbus aircraft to its Budapest base from 24 July 2010.
  • London Luton will be served three times a day versus the current double daily operation.
  • Services to Brussels Charleroi and Eindhoven will be increased to 11 times a week from daily, each.
  • Frequencies to Malmo-Copenhagen, Turku and Bourgas will also be increased.
  • Wizz Air will re-start the Budapest – Frankfurt Hahn route three times a week and launch Budapest-Bari twice a week initially.

Wizz Air Launches Warsaw-Bristol Service

Wizz Air,hhas announced  that it would launch a new route from Warsaw to Bristol. The new flights will start on 19 September with initially 2 frequencies a week. Tickets are already on sale on with fares starting from as low as GBP 18,99 (one way, all inclusive).

Wizz Air Launches Gdansk-Tampere Service
Wizz Air, has announced today that it would launch a new route to Tampere from Gdansk taking the total number of routes from the capital of the Pomerania region to 19. The new flights will start on 12 June and will initially operate 2 times a week. Tickets are already on sale on with fares starting from as low as EUR 17,49 (one way, all inclusive). Tampere is the   airline’s second destination to Finland after Turku.
Wizz Air Launches Lviv – Venice Treviso
Wizz has announced launched a new service between Ukraine and Italy Flights from Lviv to Venice Treviso will be launched on 14 May 2010 and will initially operate twice a week on brand new Airbus 320 with   all inclusive fares starting from 378 UAH .
Wizz Air Launches Budapest to Pisa Service
Wizz Air, has announced the launch of a new flight from Budapest to Pisa, making it the 6th Italian city served from the Hungarian capital. The flight will start on 1st July and initially operate 3 times a week, with fares starting from  EUR 32.49 (one way, all   inclusive). Doubles Low Cost Sharm El Sheikh Route, the only low cost airline to operate flights to Sharm El Sheikh from Manchester Airport, has today announced it will increase flights to the Egyptian hotspot throughout 2010 and bookings can be made as of today. The frequency will double to twice weekly with flights departing on a Thursday and Sunday, allowing to offer customers seven, ten and fourteen night breaks from Manchester Airport. This further commitment to’s base at Manchester Airport and the route to Sharm El Sheikh builds upon the success of the route launched in 2008.

New Jet2 Routes From Leeds Bradford today announced its summer schedules for 2010 from Leeds Bradford Airport as the airline revealed its busiest month since it started flying over six years ago. There will be three new routes including Bergerac and longer haul searing summer sun choices, Sharm el Sheikh and Corfu, all on sale now and starting to fly in May 2010. Philip Meeson, boss said, “It’s clear that everyone feels they need a bit of sun in the summer. Despite great weather predictions from the Met office this year it has been pretty dismal here in the UK. We’ve seen a huge increase in bookings this August and it looks like people don’t want to be caught out again next year. We’ve got some great new destinations coming on sale, which will make sure people can at least guarantee some summer sun.” New seat prices start at £29.99, one way, including taxes and go on sale today. Temperatures in these sunny climes are currently ranging from 26 degrees to around a steamy 40 degrees in Sharm el Sheikh.
