Buses To And From Ljubljana Airport  The bus service is limited. The buses run every hour on week days and every two hours on the weekends. The service finished at 8 pm and the airport closes as early as 10 pm. The number 28 bus will take you to and from   the city centre at a cost of 4.10 Euro’s. Adria Airways run a shuttle bus service  which costs €5

Taxis To And From Ljubljana Airport  Make sure you get a Taxi with a running metre and your journey should cost you between 30 and 40 Euro’s. Laguna, Metro and Intertours Taxi’s are the names of some inexpensive and reliable cab firms.

Bus Services in Ljubljana These are the only form of local transport. Bus services generally operate from about 5 am till 10.30 pm. There are 22 bus lines in total which are clean, modern and run at frequent intervals. Buses run every 5-10 minutes during the day and 15-30 minutes at weekends and in the summer months. Night Buses In Ljubljana  The city has 6 Night Bus routes, N1, N2, N4, N5, N6 and N11. N1 runs from 10.30 pm till 5 am, 2, 5,  and 6 run from Midnight to 3.15 am, N3 runs from  9 pm till 5 am and the N11 runs from  3.15 am till 5 am. A single ticket will cost you €1.20

The route maps accompanying the timetables at bus stops can be difficult to interpret and it is advisable to seek help from where ever you are staying or the tourist information centre before setting out. Bus Fares And Tickets In Ljubljana They have a system similar to that of an Oyster card where you buy an Urbana Card from a Newsagent for a fixed fee of 2 euro’s and then you must put a minimum of 1 Euro and a maximum of 50 Euro’s on it. 1.20 Euro’s is the standard price of a single fare. They can be purchased from the driver if you have the exact money. Alternatively you may purchase a token (zetoni) at kiosks and the Post Office and put it in the box on board the bus. This method is about 33% cheaper

Rail Services To And From Ljubljana  The main Railway Station is called Ljubljana Central Railway Station in the area  of Osrednjeslovenska,  central Ljubljana. Taxis Services In L;jubljana  Your best bet is to ring and order a Taxi rather than being extorted by the drivers trawling the streets. Companies with a reluiable reputation include  Laguna, tel no: 080 11 17, Taxi Metro 080-11-90, Intertours Taxi, tel no: 031-311-311. The numbers beginning with 080 are free phone numbers in  Slovenia. Not all Taxi companies charge the same fares.

Ljubljana Card The Ljubljana Card provides free transport on all of the city’s buses plus free admission to most of the city’s museums. It also is accepted by over a 100 business who will give cardholders a discount on their services.These include sightseeing tours accommodation meals and discounts in shops. A Ljubljana card costs 13.5€ as valid for 72 hours from the time you purchase it.
